UK Treescapes Launch

9:30am – 1:00pm, 10 December 2021

The event has concluded. You can watch the recording below.

The UK Treescapes Launch is a unique half-day event led by the Ambassadors of the Future of UK Treescapes Programme to ignite conversations around our woods, forests and treescapes.

Our trees help us tackle climate change, support animal life and benefit our well-being and culture. Yet our trees are also under threat from climate change, disease and demand for land. And unfortunately, this has led to decades of loss in animal and plant life, environmental quality and cultural heritage.

In the light of COP26’s promise to end deforestation by 2030, and the UK Government’s plans to drastically increase tree cover in the UK over the coming years, we must urgently start answering how we will achieve these goals.

Our programme is helping find answers to many of these questions, but we must do so with a focus on supporting those who will be making the decisions and planting our new forests, and those who are most affected by the changes.
